Rosie Travino: That would have to be an opinion question. My dream home theater system, Bowers & Wilkins. (B&W). For the one I want, about $25K just for the front pair....Maybe $50K for the 7.1 set
Buster Buchko: Will will depend on your personal budget, and your requirement. For home theater in a box I would only recommend the Onkyo HT-S model 3400 to 9400, which is available at Fry's Electronic. It is a 5.1/7.1 receiver and a set of speakers, price from under $400 to $1,000. You add a Panasonic blu ray disc player model DB 65 to 85 and you have a nice system that is dependable. Those other home theater in a box are not flexible for adding anything or for upgrading, when one item fails the whole system has to be replaced. Or you can go separate components, receiver and speakers from separate manufacturers. I recommend you go online to Home Theater magazine and read the reviews on all products. They have been looking at this sort of thing and grading them for many m! any years. It has been my guidance for well over 30 years. I personally use a receiver from Pioneer and Onkyo as well as a high end Krell for my home in the past 30 years. Demo the product before you buy and let your own ears be the judge on speakers. Hope this will help you out....Show more
Kiersten Clayburn: No you don't, for one thing there is no, "best" because there are too many variables and the definition of best is too subjective. Also it would be far too expensive. I built mine myself, built all the speakers, built the screen, and it's very good, better than probably any commercially installed system but I sunk about $50,000 into it just in materials. If it were done commercially it would be several hundred thousand. What you want is the best at some particular price point. You have to tell us what that price point is. Also, what you want is best to your particular taste. This is a little harder to quantify so it will require you to do some work going ! to high-end audio/theatre stores. To get any useable advice ! here you at least have to tell us your price point. Without that we can give you a few rules of thumb but that's about it. Avoid "All in One" or "HTiB" systems. These are never a good idea.If you're going with a Receiver look at brands like Denon and Onkyo as opposed to brands like Sony and Samsung. Preamp processor as opposed to a Receiver then look at Anthem or Classe.Speakers, don't consider any of the common Japanese brand names, the only Asian speaker company I would suggest is Usher Audio out of Taiwan. Typically once completed your system will consist of at least three different brands of equipment. No one brand is best at everything so you want to focus on each individual piece of equipment and find the best product for that one item.Beyond that, we need a price point, we need your application... dedicated theatre or living room theatre, size of room, level of performance you expect... You really need to give us a detailed description of the kind of theatre yo! u're trying to put together and how much you can spend. If it's an elaborate system that will cost tens of thousands then you can start with tips from here but ultimately you will want to visit some local high-end shops. Just don't let those guys sell you on spending a lot on speaker cables.mk...Show more
Marion Wieboldt: properly, such as you suggested you go with good sound a private opinion could be to go with Onkyo and there are fashions obtainable in Onkyo that have a blu ray participant and cyber web hook up, i assume BDSP308 is a kind that are the only you're searching for. properly in terms of kind acceptance, i could agree that Sony is forward yet at the instant persons are beginning as much as settle for Onkyo as a kind. With this we are in a position to additionally deduce that the value of Onkyo would be quite much less....Show more
