Valentine Willinger: I'll be answering your questions, as detailed as I can, but I'm not an expert.1. I don't think any entertainment look closely on any gender, its the talent and looks which counts, by the time being producers arent sure which group they will produce in next couple years. But looking at the artist which debuted already I must say there is an advantage of male groups, which isnt really dicreasing anyone chances.2. Some people argue that you do have to know Korean. I'm not sure how it is in YG, but Amber in f(x) didint know any Korean, neither Nichkhun, they simply learned it while being trainees, its the same for Korean trainees, which learn Japanese or Chinese.3. ! They will pick the group for you. Maybe I'm putting it into wrong words. They make new group and chooses YOU to be a member. It's not like everyone have their chance to shine, and take a look at, there are many trainees which takes years to debut, or dont debut at all.4. If you're asking this due to band, its really simple. If its under popular label, in this case YG, there is high chance you will be pretty popular at the start. If you're asking in parson, I would say big amount of charisma would be the perfect answer.5. In YG there are Big Bang, 2ne1, Seven, Gummy, Wheesung and Tablo, for me they are the most known. In other entertainments there are SNSD, Shinee, Super Junior, B2st, Infinite, Teen Top, Miss A, T-ara and lots, lots more.6. You can auddion for anything you would like. They say JYP is YG twin, and in JYP they look more at dancing. If you look at Bom's case, she auditioned 3 times, until they finally accepted here, even though she have so powerfull and lovely ! voice, which everyone should be jealous of. They simply though! t her voice wont fit, but oh well, she's now in 2ne1 and she's doing great....Show more

Sharie Sommerville: Ok so I've never tried out or anything so I don't know how true these answers are but here is what I know / have heard from others.1. According to YG they don't discriminate between males and females, they are strictly looking for talent. As far as actually making it big, there are many, many female groups/artists as well as male groups/artists. I personally wouldn't say that being male or female puts you at an advantage.2. This one I have no idea on, I would assume the more Korean you know, the better off you'll be. But I don't think that you have to be fluent in Korean, just willing to learn the language if you get chosen.3. Pretty sure that they will place you in a group that they think you will benefit the most. I doubt the artist has much say in which group he/she is placed in.4. It certainly takes a lot of work to become a popular Kpop group or art! ists. Many groups take multiple years simply to prepare before they even release a single. You must be prepared to sacrifice a lot of time and put in a lot of hard work. One of the members of T-ara said that they usually only get 2 hours of sleep a night. While I doubt this is the case with most groups, there is a lot of tough scheduling and stress with practically all of them.5. This is very opinionated but some top female groups are SNSD, Wonder Girls, 2NE1, and Kara. Some top female artists are BoA and IU. Some top male groups are Super Junior, B2ST, Shinee, TVXQ, and Big Bang but I don't know male artists as well.6. Singing is probably the most important skill but if you plan on joining a group, it is highly favorable to be able to dance well too.Honestly, if you are thinking of trying out I would practice a lot and make sure you have the talent to make it. I suggest youtubing different audition videos of artists that are trying to make it / have already made ! it. Also think hard about if your willing to go through a lot of work ! in order to make it big. You will basically be giving up your life in order to do this. If you don't make YG, and you are talented, be willing to work with other top agencies too. I wish you the best of luck and if you do somehow make it big... you should sign me an autograph and send it to me haha....Show more

Autumn Vacio: 1) Is it better being a male singer than a female, or is it equal? Because I wanna try out, but to me it seems the male groups/singers have a better chance of rising to fame than females. In my own opinion, boy bads/solo male singers from YG are better known that females. The most popular female group from YG is 2NE1. Most girl groups are more 'prissy&cutesy' while 2NE1 sort of reminds me of the guys except with their own flare. If you're different and stand out, then you'll have a better chance of getting popular when you first debut. You'll be surprised of how many people don't actually like the cute act. 2) Do you have do know Korean to join?! No. If you are talented and they want to train you, they'll also teach you Korean. But since you don't know any Korean, you'll have a lower chance on getting signed under them.3) Will you be put in a group of your choice, or will they pick for you?I believe they'll pick for you. Sometimes, the people you train with could actually be in your group but you just don't know it (sorta like EXO when they were trainees). If you are put into a group, before your debut, you guys will meet eachother.4) How hard is it to become popular?Very hard. You have to come out with something amazing or else you'll be shrugged under therug like a few other Kpop artists. But remember, 2NE1 didn't get really known until their song 'I Don't Care' then got really popular after 'I'm The Best'. So, it takes a while to just get known, unless you debut with something everybody can like or relate too.5) What's the most popular Kpop group/singer out there so far?I'll list it from most to least.ShineeEXOBI! G BANG2NE1SNSD6) For YG Entertainment, do you just sing or can you audi! tion for other things as well? They're mainly looking for singers, and will choose singers over dancers anyday, but if you want to sing then you have to bring in a CD for you to dance too. Other than that, no....Show more
