Adult dental orthodontics?

Troy Monsivais: No insurance will cover orthodontics.if you do find one , it will cover only necessary emergency ones due to , for example , a car accident . god forbid.

Marna Liddie: Call your state Dental Assn as they are partners in a dental Insurance plan for the public. They can give you the number to call and you can then decide how much coverage you want and they will give you the fee for that coverage. Good luck and I wish you well. The Denture Pro.

Tatiana Evanosky: With today’s advanced materials and techniques, wearing braces is much more efficient, convenient, and comfortable then ever!

Rolanda Merritt: The truth is a little in-between the two previous answers. Dental insurance will cover *some* orthodontics (not just emergency work). However, dental insurance only covers items that are necessary for the health of your teeth. For example, if you are having an alignment problem that is interfering with your ability to chew properly or wher! e one tooth is impinging on another, then many dental insurances will cover orthodontics work to correct the problem. But most people get braces merely to make their smile more attractive. In other words, it is like cosmetic surgery, in that it affects appearance but not function. And just as medical insurance does not cover cosmetic surgery, dental insurance does not cover most orthodontic work. I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but I hope it helps. You may want to look into dental discount plans, under which some dentists will give you a break on the price of orthodonture. Be careful with those kinds of plans, however. My experience has been that the best, most experienced dentists are less likely to participate. But you might find a young dentist, just starting in practice, who is talented but still needs to build a client base. Beyond that, most dentists, especially those with adult orthodontic practices, are very familiar with managed payment plans. Y! ou may be able to work out payments in a way that you can affo! rd. You should talk with the orthodontist and see what you can arrange. Good luck!...Show more
