Son Ahlers: The short answer is NO! Obama intends to subsidize the AMA. The nightmare continues... ATTENTION!! MEDICAL ALERT!! WARNING!! POSSIBLE FATAL DRUG INTERACTION!! Warfarin (Coumadin®) is the most widely prescribed anticoagulant drug in the United States. When taken with goji juice, cranberry juice, avocados, spinach, ginseng and fish oil supplements, Warfarin (Coumadin®) can cause stroke, heart attack, and death. "Warfarin" was developed to KILL RATS AND MICE, and it's still being used for that same purpose today! If you are taking this "rat poison," please speak with your doctor BEFORE consuming any berries, fruits or vegitables.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------"If the whole materia medica (drugs/medicines), as now used, could be sunk to the bottom of the sea, it would be so much the better for mankind â" and all the worse for the fishes." Dr. Oliver Wendell Holmes--------------------------------------------------! ------------------------------In the above quote, Dr. Oliver Wendell Holmes was referring to the "chemical concoctions," used, and promoted to this day, by the American Medical Association (AMA). "Medical mal-practice," when combined with "dirty, staph-infected, hospitals," and "poison pharmaceuticals," has become the #1 cause of death in America. "Staph-Infected Hospitals" alone kill more people each year than all the automobile accidents in the United States, while Trial Lawyers continue to make a killing, off of all this killing. If Hippocrates knew what modern "American Medicine" has become, he would be rolling over in his grave. *Whatever happened to the Hippocratic Oath of "Do No Harm?"...Show more
Marcia Cheathan: It's likely that Obama will follow the old "if it works, it gets funded, if not it doesn't".This crazy policy will ensure that alt med scams get the attention and funding they deserve, i.e. NONE!
Joie Libutti: No, âalternative medicineâ woul! d not necessarily save a lot of money.A lot of âalternative ! medicineâ is totally useless and just delays people in getting real medicine. By the time they do, things have gotten worse or itâs too late.âPrevenative medicineâ is something else entirely â" for starters, itâs legitimate....Show more
Robbie Starchman: you'd think that alternative and preventative medicine would save a lot of money for EVERYONE and would help keep people more healthy (and in the jobs)... isn't that what the government is going for- saving money, keeping people free of health problems so they can work and pay taxes?
Hipolito Rightmire: edited to add moreI doubt it. For those using it, it will likely be similar in what it covers to medicaid or medicare which does cover usually chiropractic but not other things for the most part.the one Ohio has been gathering signatures for 5 years (they need tons of signatures) does. I collected 1300 signatures very easily in my county and 2 out of three people signed and really were wanting it, l! eaped to sign it enthusiastically and commented how they hated the system we had and it was bleeding them dry financially, so I did get a pulse on how people in Ohio felt about single payer health care as I essentially interviewed 2000 people and found 67% wanted it and the rest were either too busy or happy with what they had or just did not sign petitions. This I know the 67% who signed it wanted it.That one designed for the ballot once they get the many signatures needed in all 88 counties DOES cover alternative health, but then it is a true single payer system well thought out and not made to accommodate and help out the insurance companies but the sick as well as saving many millions on paperwork and preventative med etc alone.I am sure the health industry will pour billions into scare tactics and advertising to defeat it when it does go on the ballot as this is BY the people (and doctors many who drafted and other who signed the petition) FOR the people and not them! or our so called bribed congresspeople and they cannot let us win and! dent their whole money making endeavors. This is the model that Obama should have used as it is cheaper than what we have now, covers alternative and preventative medicine, dental, mental health etc and all but a few things like cosmetic surgery. It does not matter if one has a preexisting condition and it helps those displace by lose of jobs and much more..it covers all Ohioans from cradle to grave period. It displaces the insurance industry and helps doctors save massive time on paperwork. It is called span but this bill is trying to go cautiously cause the freaking dems are terrified if they do their values and go for what we want, they will lose the election and consequently trying to please everything as the scared, people pleasers they are, they water it all down and do not do a real singer payer unfortunately. the GAOI also do not like forcing people to get health insurance. It is a shame because alternative health is often cheaper and more effective and saving the ! allopaths for trauma and emergencies and hard cases makes better sense money wise if for the people and not for profit as a cash cow. This is what they do in Europe save the doctors and drugs for the top 15% of things alternative medicines doesn't help and save a lot of money and suffering by using safe, nontoxic and more effective herbs etc. Here is the website on span and the 2nd link is the text of the actual bill we are working hard to get on the ballot and in Ohiohttp://www.spanohio.org/http://www.spanohio.org/Petition.pdf3922.07 and 3922.08 are sections to read if just skimming it...Show more
Veta Slicker: And yes, I'm asserting that chiropractic and acupuncture (TCM) are BOTH alternative AND preventative forms of medicine (and are legitimate and are covered under certain health insurance policies through certain companies like Blue Cross Blue Shield. Coventry covers Chiropractic medicine, the list goes on. Furthermore, many Olympic athletes around the world (in! cl. USA) get treatments and care from Chiropractors, TCM doctors, and h! erbalists- they're legitimate forms of "alternative" and preventative medicine so just accept it)- I wasn't asking if they were legitimate was I?...Show more
Travis Sherrock: I think you're confusing preventative and alternative medicine here. Alternative = an alternative to something which has been shown to work by being subjected to a double blind clinical trial.
