Linwood Mccory: Nature created cats to eat meat - not dry carbohydrate filled kibbles. Dry food was created for our convenience and not for the health of our cats. An all-dry diet is now linked to such feline disorders as obesity, diabetes, constipation, urinary tract disorders, and kidney disease. Cats need at least one canned meal a day, and ideally dry is limited to snacking. Read this - written by a vet who has actually researched feline nutrition:http://catinfo.org/...Show more
Monroe Rainey: www.catinfo.orgNutrition since there are so many bad things out there is very important to your catâs healthContrary to what you may have heard; dry foods are not a great thing to feed a cat. Please read the label on what you are feeding? What are the ingredients? Do you know what they mean? Is the first ingredient a muscle meat like chicken or meal or other things?http://www.catinfo.org/#Learn_How_To_Reaâ¦http://www.sniksnak.com/ac/petfooddefiniâ¦Dry foods are the! number 1 cause of diabetes in cats as well as being a huge contributing factor to kidney disease, obesity, crystals, u.t.iâs, constipation, and a host of other problems. Male cats are especially prone to blockagesfrom dry food. Food allergies are very common when feeding dry foods. Rashes, scabs behind the tail and on the chin are all symptoms The problems associated with Dry food is that they are loaded with grains and carbohydrates which many cats (carnivores) cannot process. ( Have a fat cat?)An even bigger problem is that it IS dry and it dehydrates no matter how much your cat drinksMost of the moisture a cat needs is suppose to be in the food. Cats are not naturally big drinkers. 95% of the moisture is zapped out of dry foods in the processing. Think about it.Another thing, most use horrible ingredients and don't use a muscle meat as the primary ingredient and use vegetable based protein versus animal. Not good for an animal that has to eat meat to survive.http://ww! w.catinfo.org/#My_Cat_is_Doing_â¦You want to pick a canned fo! od w/o gravy (gravy=carbs) that uses a muscle meat as the first ingredient and doesn't have corn at least in the first 3 ingredients if at all. THE BEST CAT FOODS CONTAIN NO GRAINS NO BYPRODUCTS Cats are meat eaters not cereal or rice eatersFancy feast is a middle grade food with 9lives, friskies whiskas lower grade canned and wellness and merrick upper grade human quality foods. I would rather feed a middle grade canned food then the top of the line dry food. Also, dry food is not proven to be better for teeth. Does a hard pretzel clean your teeth or do pieces of it get stuck in between.http://www.littlebigcat.com/index.php?acâ¦http://www.felinefuture.com/?p=470ary&acâ¦Please read about cat nutrition.http://www.catinfo.org/ http://www.catinfo.org/?link=felineobesiâ¦http://maxshouse.com/feline_nutrition.htâ¦Prescription diets It is extremely rare that they should be fedThe reason your vet thinks so highly of the pet food they sell probably has more to do with the people ! pushing it onthem with their own research showing how great their food is. Who is going to spend money or research for animals thesedays. The food companies that is who. Their research is designed not to hurt their bottom lineBelieve me a company researching their own products are in it for profit Some vets are behind the times when it comes to nutritionbut more are reading and becoming up to dateTimes change information changes over time as more is learned. Ezekiel Kadner: Usually dry food is better because the crunching action acts like a toothbrush. Lots of cats like wet food, and thats just fine, but I like the dry food because it is cheaper and helps clean my cat's teeth.
Karl Samiec: I feed my cat dry in the morning and wet a night sorry if it didn't help
Mozell Sponsler: I feed my cat dry food and make wet food a treat. So I give it wet food like twice a week. And you can mix dry and wet food as well ,my cat love! s it ;)
Russ Kiernan: It can depend on the individual cat. But us! ually most vets will recommend keeping a healthy dry food available, and wet food offered once or twice a day max,in the right proportion for the cat.
Logan Bero: Wet food is better. Raw food is best. Contrary to popular belief, dry food does not act like a tooth brush. In fact, it leads to tooth decay. This is because it is full of carbs which stick to their teeth. It would be like us munching on some tough crackers. If you cannot do raw food then choose grain free food. If you cannot do all wet food then try this. Feed 1 small can grain free wet food (Halo, Nature's Variety, and Wellness are all good brands) split the can one half morning, one half night. Midday you can feed 1/4 cup of grain free dry food (Nature's Variety Instinct, Wellness CORE, Halo Grain Free, Solid Gold, all good brands). If you can do the raw food I suggest starting with Nature's Variety, the kibble version. It is raw food in the shape of kibble, and it is very easy to feed. From there you can ! branch out....Show more
Jeannine Vassie: Canned and raw are far better then dry food. Ideally you should give both each day. Too much dry can lead to UTI problems and early liver/kidney problems.
Marcellus Exler: Wet food is best.I feed my cats mainly wet food with dry for snacking and it helps keep their teeth healthier than a total wet food diet.
Melvina Bieri: Wet food is healthier
