About Computer Network Specialist?

Andrew Sinatra: An Associate Degree in a technology field can usually help you obtain employment at the technician level (Helpdesk Tech, Network Tech, Server Tech, etc.). For higher level positions such as Network Managers, Network Administrators, or Network Engineers, companies typically want individuals with Bachelor Degrees, relevant certifications (Network+, CCENT, CCNA, etc.) or both for these positions.If you can, I would consider pursuing the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or at least the Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) certifications while you are still in school. That way, when you graduate you will have both a degree AND valid certifications. This makes you much more marketable and could possibly lead to employment above the technician level. Just don't expect to start out to high (maybe at the Network Technician or Junior Network Administrator) level -- many times you have to start at the bottom of the food chain and work your way up.! I would also consider pursuing a Bachelor Degree is something like Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Information Technology -- even if you pursue it while your working.
